Products
are checked during each production run to determine whether
critical specifications are being met - such as deflection of a
spider, resonance of a cone, weight of the finished products, as
well as weights at various steps in the process.
NuWay uses one of
the industry's most stringent quality control devices; an optical
coordinate measuring machine (CMM) to verify exact specifications.
With an 18" x 18" platform, the CMM was chosen for it's ability
to check specifications and measure parts for exact reproduction, regardless of radius or arc sizes. This choice of measuring equipment is based upon the fact that touching a soft part to
measure it, will change it, a little, or a lot but still will
change it. Additionally, this equipment will measure parameters
that are not normally measurable using standard techniques, such
as roll radius, or body angle.
